![]() Flo The Wonder Dog Flo came into the rescue and was fostered by Marian who fell in love and decided to adopt her. Flo is a pug and is 6 years old and is on medication for her heart but is full of life and full of the joys of spring. On the 15th October Flo was having a cuddle from her 'mum' when she started sniffing and nudging at Marian's chest and even though she was told to settle down she carried on nudging and concentrated on Marian's right boob. She was so persistent that when she had a shower that night Marian checked her boobs but could find nothing wrong. The following day Marian was sitting watching TV and Flo got up and started nudging again in the same place this time she was pawing and getting quite agitated nudging and pawing in the same place, Flo was convinced there was something wrong. Marian again went for a shower and this time she prodded and probed her right boob and there she found a very small pea like lump very deep in her boob. The next day she made an appointment to see her GP who referred her straight to the Alexander Hospital in Redditch Worcestershire where she saw consultant Mr Purser who did a core biopsy and told her she would be admitted to the hospital to have the lump removed. Two weeks later Marian was told that it had been a grade3 tumour and that she was very lucky to have found it as it was so small and deep seated. Marian is due to start Chemo on the 22nd of December and we wish Marian all the best and a big thank you to a special girl Flo the 'wonder dog'. Marian would like to say a big thank you to Mr Purser and everyone involved in her diagnosis and treatment at the Alexander Hospital, she couldn't have been in better hands. |
